​Bear Closet is a student-run DeCal course and community-based organization at UC Berkeley focused on making the LGBTQ community more accessible to questioning and closeted youth. Our DeCal is dedicated to training and preparing students to speak at middle and high schools regarding LGBTQ life at college, through the Pacific Center's Speaker's Bureau program. We also aim to raise awareness about various issues within and surrounding the LGBTQ community.

​We welcome students of all genders and sexualities (including straight, cisgender allies) to join our course and cause!

​These statistics only reflect a small reality of what LGBTQ youth have to face everyday.
​We want to change that reality into a positive outlook for all closeted and questioning youth and allies. 
Through self-awareness, group discussions, and peer mentorship, we understand and support the importance of having strong role models and building an inclusive community.
